Tanaka Precious Metal Industries, the largest metal dealer, will announce the price of precious metals twice a day starting July 1. Previously, it was once at 9:30 a.m., but 2 p.m. will be added. It corresponds to the increasing number of cases in which prices such as gold fluctuate significantly in a short period of time.
The over-the-counter price is when an individual purchases and sells gold (gold) and platinum from Tanaka precious metals. Tanaka Precious Metal Co., Ltd. has set prices in consideration of international exchange rates and exchange rates in dollars, and publishes them on its website every business day. Over-the-counter prices of Tanaka precious metals are used as an indicator of domestic gold prices.
The price of precious metals has fluctuated significantly. In particular, gold accelerated its rise in 2025, and retail prices rose 20% to 17,678 yen per gram on June 16, compared to 14,746 yen per gram at the end of 2024.
Until now, Tanaka Kogyo has changed its prices from time to time during the day in case of major market fluctuations. “We aim to respond more flexibly to market changes through the announcement of prices twice a business day,” the company said.
