The Recycling Today Media Group has selected the Milea Sitges Hotel in Sitges, Spain, as the venue for the 2023 Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference Europe.
The conference is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 7, and Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Milea Sitges, s a resort hotel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
The conference, which has been held annually (not including pandemic-affected years) since 2005, is described by event organizers as a “must-attend event for the European paper and plastics recycling industry, providing unparalleled networking opportunities, a diverse educational program and a roster of high-profile speakers who address many of the foremost issues confronting paper recyclers and consumers in Europe and abroad.”
Last year’s conference, held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, brought together about 200 recyclers and traders to discuss issues including looming European trade barriers, sustainability issues affecting packaging and its recycling, ambitious plastic recycling targets in Europe, and the future of European containerboard manufacturing capacity.
As a destination, Milea says Sitges, which is near Barcelona, is “home to the perfect combination of business and pleasure.” The city has an old town district with cobbled streets, plus beaches the Sitges Anytime says are “for practicing sports or for relaxing and forgetting about everything.”
