EPC’s owner acquires Japanese ITAD company

CSI Leasing, a global firm that owns recycling and electronics processing facilities throughout the world including EPC, has increased its stake in TRY Corporation, an ITAD operation near Tokyo.
CSI Leasing Japan on Nov. 9 announced it purchased a 20% stake in TRY. The Japanese ITAD firm was already 80% owned by CSI parent company Tokyo Century Group, so it’s now entirely under the same company ownership.
TRY, located in Zama, Japan, has 80 employees who process 200,000 assets per year. It’s focused on asset refurbishment and data erasure, according to CSI. The company anticipates the facility will increase its processing capacity after the acquisition. CSI also noted TRY recently installed a solid-state drive (SSD) shredder that can shred smaller than 2 millimeters, in line with EPC’s standards.
The Japanese ITAD operation has been rebranded as EPC Japan.
The acquisition comes on the heels of CSI acquiring an ITAD firm in Malaysia that processes 15,000 assets per year.
